This is a billet aluminum fuel filter and oil filter cap package. Both caps include a built-in Schrader valve test ports for accurate reading of oil and fuel pressure, respectively. Because the diesel fuel cools and lubricates the injectors on the 6.0L engine, operating the vehicle within recommended fuel pressure specifications (approximately 65psi or greater) is critical. Fuel pressure is one of the first things that should be checked when driveability issues occur. The oil pressure on the Powerstroke 6.0L is also very Important because the lube pump pressure supplies the high pressure oil pump with oil. Without proper pressure in the system, many other components will begin to fail.
Running your Ford Powerstroke 6.0L diesel engine at correct oil pressure levels is critical to ensure efficient operation and to prevent damage to many of its components, including the high-pressure oil pump and diesel fuel injectors. The OEM oil pressure gauge on these trucks actually functions as a switch rather than as a gauge. The oil pressure reading is inaccurate at best. There is also a warning light that denotes low oil pressure, but will not engage until the gauge shows less than 7 PSI of oil pressure. This makes other methods of checking oil pressure on your truck essential.
