About Us
It all started in 1935 in San Nicolás de los Garza, Nuevo León, when Don Manuel Treviño Garza learned the tannery trade. As time went by, his son Don Leonelo perfected this trade and in 1959 he founded, together with his brother Jesús, the Treviño tannery, located in the center of the municipality of San Nicolás. The Treviño tannery is a family business and has successfully specialized in this industrial activity for more than 80 years. Its most important growth occurred in 1975 when it expanded its production capacity by installing a new plant in the municipality of El Carmen, Nuevo León, which to this day continues to be the home of our company.
1935

1959
The Treviño Botello brothers, Leonelo and Jesús, established Trevino Leather.
1965
The export of hides to the US and European countries begins; and the sons of Don Leonelo Treviño Botello join the company.
1975
Trevino Leather expands its production capacity with a new plant in El Carmen, N.L., diversifies into the clothing industry, and establishes branches in León, Guadalajara, and Mexico City.
1985
Leather starts to be used extensively in furniture manufacturing. A commitment to excellence that strengthens the bond between innovation and tradition.
1990
A significant milestone is reached: Leather sales to the automotive industry commence, and additionally, the company reaches a new level of quality by obtaining the ISO (formerly QS) Management Systems certification, reaffirming its commitment to excellence and innovation.
2000
A Major Investment and the Grand Opening of our Cutting area. An important investment is finalized with the opening of the Cutting Plant, boosting production capacity and offering greater added value.
2004
We are honored to receive the ‘Diego de Villarreal’ Medal for Civic Merit in acknowledgement of our contributions to the betterment of the community
2010
We acquire new machinery to expand production capacity in the cutting plant.
2016
Treviño Leather expands its borders and begins operations in Asia with the opening of a plant in collaboration with Chinese and Italian entrepreneurs, strengthening its international leadership. That same year, the company obtains the EcoVadis certification.
2018 and 2020
We successfully obtained ISO 14001 environmental management certification, ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory accreditation, and the CEMEFI ESR Distinction, recognizing our commitment to social responsibility.
2018
A fire affected two of our warehouses. This challenge marked a before and after, pushing us to rebuild with greater strength, resilience, and a vision for the future.
2021
Launching our new Components Division, aimed at strengthening the manufacturing of products with added value. This area integrates processes such as laser and CNC cutting, perforation, lamination, engraving, embroidery, stitching, quilting, lining, and assembly, allowing for the production of everything from individual pieces to finished components. This same year, the company obtains Leather Working Group (LWG) certification.
2022
A new division is created, to expand our product line, focused on diverse high- performance materials, as part of a strategy to expand and diversify products, aimed at meeting new market demands. Showcasing our dedication to innovation and providing a broader range of comprehensive solutions.
2023
Obtaining the WRAP (Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production) certification, which guarantees that operations are carried out ethically, responsibly, and respecting human rights.
2024
The first company-owned daycare in Nuevo León, Mamá Tencha, is inaugurated. Subsidized by the IMSS (Mexican Social Security Institute), it has the capacity for 250 children, reaffirming the company’s commitment to family well-being.
Additionally, the “Curtidos Recreational and Social Center” is launched with the construction of a soccer field, aiming to promote a comprehensive environment for development and social interaction.

65th Anniversary of Trevino Leather. We celebrate 65 years of history, solidifying a legacy of effort, innovation, and sustained growth. We reaffirm our commitment to quality, our people, and industrial development.

The implementation of automation processes in various production areas begins, with the purpose of improving operational efficiency, maintaining quality, and optimizing the use of resources.
